Introducing Madelyn Ann

Jeff and I took Landon out to eat a couple of days before baby sister arrived. This would be the last time of it being just the three of us. A few weeks before delivery we had the name Ryann picked out. We both were on the fence with the name so at dinner I had a list of names written out on a piece of paper and told Jeff to circle one and that would be it. End of discussion. The name picked was Madelyn Ann. Jeff's middle name is Madison and Madelyn is the girl version of Madison. I wanted the middle name to be Ann as this was my grandmother’s middle name as well as mine. She will go by Maddie for short.

I was scheduled for a C-section Friday morning on Sept. 28th so my Mom and Dad were kind enough to keep Landon during my stay in the hospital. Jeff and I arrived at Labor and Delivery around 8:15 Friday morning. I asked my sister Melissa if she would like to take pictures during the surgery and her immediate response was yes! She was super excited. About 10:15 the nurses rolled me into surgery to get prepped and then Jeff and Melissa came in soon thereafter. I was given a combined spinal-epidural anesthesia. Within minutes of receiving the drugs I encountered a really bad headache and was nauseous. Soon after I felt like I couldn't swallow, like my throat was closing in. The anesthesiologist told me everything was fine and suctioned my mouth. Then I started panicking because I was having a hard time breathing. My chest felt like it was closing in so I was then given oxygen. After all that Madelyn made her entrance into the world kicking and screaming at exactly 11:00 am, weighting 8 pounds and 19 1/2 inches long. I was then rolled into recovery with my head still pounding and totally out of it. We were finally moved to a room at 2 pm and I was able to see Madelyn for the first time at around 2:30. She is another blessing!

Maternity Pics - 33 Weeks / 34 Weeks

34 Weeks - My original due date is October 5th but with me having a c-section I will go in September 28th. I can't believe our little girl is almost here. Landon knows "Ryann" as my belly and he knows the girly clothes, crib and carseat are for her but I don't think he truly understands what is about to happen! I know he will be a great big brother and helper. I will be on a maternity leave through the first of the year and I will remove Landon from school during this time as his school is close to my work and not home.

33 Weeks - This pregnancy has been different from when I was pregnant with Landon. I ate more foods and sweets. Unfortunately for Jeff, my moods have been terrible and I stress out more than usual. It is getting better though! Ryann is constantly moving and jabbing me in the stomach. With Landon, I hardly felt him move. I'm in the uncomfortable stage along with the feet sweeling and not sleeping.

My wonderful sister came out and took our maternity/family pictures out at Arbor Hills Nature Reserve. Luckily the weather cooperated and it wasn't too hot.

Ranger Game (June)

My sisters and their families got together and spent an evening at the Ballpark to watch the Rangers beat the Houston Astros.

My sister Melissa said goodbye to her favorite bag. She stole this "vintage" bag from me about 10 years ago.  When I would ask for the bag back, she would get really possessive about it. I got this bag from being in the Bobby Valentine fan club (about 15-17yrs ago), whom I was obsessed with and was the only reason I would go to a game as a child, to see him.  Thank you Melissa for giving it back to me so I could pass it down to Landon.

Happy 4th of July

We headed out to Addison Kaboom Town to watch the 30 minute fireworks display and the air show featuring the Cavanaugh Historic Warbird Flyover. The company I work for manages a building down the street from where the fireworks take place so we were able to park in the parking garage and hang out on the rooftop to watch the fireworks. It was pretty neat. Our team had a section of the roof blocked off so we could grill hot dogs and mingle. Being at the top was quite breezy and very enjoyable.

The kids had lots of fun with the water mister.

Unfortunately Landon didn't last the whole show!

Saying Goodbye to Landon's Baby Clothes

Since I'll be making room for a girl, this past weekend I dropped off 4 tubs full of Landon's clothes from newborn to 12 months to a resell shop. The attendant went through it all and picked out what the store could use. I'm pretty amazed that 95% of the clothes were good enough to sell. She told me I had allot of nice clothes that were in excellent condition and she was excited to go through them. I didn't think it was going to be hard for me to get rid of them but I then started crying at the counter. I know it's just clothes but Landon's my first and it was hard to see it all go away : (

The family gathered at my parents house Sunday for food, fun and lots of swimming!
